DAI/Promote: Women in the Economy (WIE) Reusable Sanitary Napkin Production & Social Marketing:

Reusable Sanitary Napkin Production & Social Marketing grant project will produce environment friendly and chemical free reusable menstrual sanitary pads for Afghan women by Afghan women using quality materials as an initial pilot phase in Kabul so that; the Afghan women can manage their menstruation in privacy, safety, with respect and dignity. The project will provide employment opportunities for disadvantaged women through the production and social marketing of Reusable Sanitary Napkin (RSN) kits to improve their family livelihoods and living situation. The RSN kits will be primarily produced by home-based and disadvantaged women (women in Prison and/or in Women Protection Centers or Khana Aman), where they will be appropriately trained to sew the RSNs kits. This project seeks to address the everlasting challenge of Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) through making and distributing of reusable sanitary pads to local markets.
